$344 · Betsey - Border Collie Dog
Shelter: BC SPCA - Sunshine Coast
Animal ID: 455239
Birthdate: February 24, 2012 - Adult
Betsey's life has not been one of a typical dog. She has never had the luxury of a soft bed to sleep on or had the chance to learn the potential excitement of a car ride. Betsey came to the BC SPCA as result of a cruelty seizure where she lived with a large number of dogs outside, none of which were socialized with people or the outside world. As you can imagine life has been very stressful for Betsey but she has come a long way in the time she has spent with us and progressing everyday but she still has a ways to go. Betsey can now wear a collar and leash and enjoys going a walks but the world is still a big scary place! She is a couch potato and would love nothing more than to snuggle up with her favourite person for a Friday night in binge watching Netflix. ;)
It will take some time for her to trust a new person in her life but once she does, she bonds very strongly. Before being placed in a home, potential adopters will have commit to visit Betsey numerous times at the shelter over the course of weeks to build a relationship. A securely fenced yard is a MUST. Betsey would do best with a single person or couple but children would been too frightening for her. Due to a possible prey drive, we believe she should not live with cats or other small animals. She may, however, be able to live with a larger, social dog but would do fine on her own as well.
Please contact the Sunshine Coast SPCA for more information on this wonder girl!
