The dog of the Vikings, Norwegian Buhunds were bred to be working farm and herding dogs. True to his breed, Rocky is a busy guy just looking for a job to do. He would LOVE to participate in dog sports such as Rally-O and nosework or even dabble in some agility. Unfortunately, we don't believe Rocky was provided with an appropriate outlet for his working tendencies in his previous home so he has developed some escaping behaviours and general anxiety. He is currently on medication to help him cope which will need to be continued in his new home. However, he's such a keen guy to learn and, if given the stimulation he needs, we're confident he will be able to be weaned off his medication. Rocky is a needy guy and bonds very strongly with his person. He would not do well in a home where he was left alone all day. He longs to be someone's constant companion and partner in crime! Rocky is not the dog for a first-time dog owner and would prefer a home without young children. Even though Rocky has some quirks to manage, we know this diamond in the rough will make the most amazing partner for someone willing to work with this gem of a dog!
